I learned yes. ago of a simple way to maske the inaside of any carfe easy to clean- take a couple od tps heaping of bk. soda in followed by boiling water or reallt hot water seal, let set ovetnite or several hrs rinse well! You'll be surprised at wht comes out at 1st,

good luck, I've been doing this since I married. This makes a better produt even better and that's hard to do do with these caefe's as I own 4.

This is one of the few products I have ever bought that exceeded my expectations in quality and function. It is well constructed with a metal center, heavy plastic end caps and handle, and a glass lined interior. I have not had any leaks, as some other reviewers have had, though I have noticed that some people are trying to use it as a thermos rather than a carafe. I come home from work at 5:30pm and the coffee that I put in it at 6am is still hot enough to drink without having to microwave it. What more can you ask from a carafe at any price?

This is a great vacuum flask for the price. It keeps beverages warm for ages. I can go out to run errands for a couple of hours, come back and enjoy a steaming mug of coffee. I've had it a few months and nothing on it has broken -- it's robust.

The only minor downside is that, yes, it does leak a little out of the base somehow. This doesn't seem to affect the heat retention, but it leaves little coffee drips on the counter. That doesn't bother me as I have to wipe the counter down after grinding beans and plunging the coffee anyway. You get what you pay for and this does a perfectly adequate job for the price. I'm happy!

First, and most importantly, the server doesn't keep the coffee hot. It does not have a glass thermal lining (I should have known to look for that feature before I purchased this product.)After a half hour in the server, the coffee is lukewarm and I have to reheat it in the microwave.

Secondly, the screw-on top has some features that seem to serve no purpose - a button on top that I assume is intended to release the vacuum so the coffee can be poured out. It doesn't work, you have to loosen the lid itself. Also, the lid comes apart into several pieces for cleaning I guess. But it collects coffee inside the hollow lid and then that coffee dribbles all over the place.

You get what you pay for is a truism I guess. This carafe looks wonderful (many compliments at Thanksgiving), and feels like an heirloom, but it just doesn't keep anything hot all that long. By the time people were ready for a second cup of coffee, the coffee was just barely acceptably hot. I bought this since the Alfi line is so expensive, and this had similar good looks, but I suppose the Alfi carafes are expensive for a reason.

I purchased two of these decanters for my church. They previously had the glass version, which broke shortly after the church purchased the Bunn Pouromatic a number of years ago. They had been using whatever replacement decanters they could get on sale at Walmart. I had a pretty good idea of what to expect when I bought this product after seeing them in virtually every restaurant I've worked or eaten in for my entire life. They arrived quickly and in good condition. A bit expensive, but if they are truly unbreakable, it should be worth it.
